PST backup tool

We have Win XP Pro (multiple accounts) and Office XP Pro installed, both at
home on a non-networked computer. I installed the PST Backup Tool while I
was logged in, and it worked just fine. Then I logged in to my husband's
account, opened his Outlook, and "Backup" was not in the File menu.

He uses Chapura to hot sync Outlook with his Palm Pilot - is this causing a
problem?

I really want to be able to back up both of our PST files - can anyone help
me?

Some applications are required to be installed on profile per profile basis
if you run the install while logged in as your husband's profile. Everything
will be dandy..

Hope this helps, Brenno

I thought about that, so when I was logged in, I tried to install it. I
received a message that said the application was already installed and would
have to be uninstalled before it could be installed again. I stopped at that
point, but should I go ahead and do it?

So, I uninstalled the program, logged in as my husband, and installed it.
Now it shows up in his Outlook, but not in mine. How can I install it to
show up in both? During the installation process, it didn't ask me where I
wanted it to be installed.

Paula,

Just copy the pst.from both accounts to disk, and forget about backup, Just
a needless tool MS came up with...
"C:\Documents and Settings\"Username"\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook"
Is the path for your *.pst

I had wondered about that - thank you for confirming my suspicion. This will
save tons of time over the constant uninstalling and re-installing of the
Backup add-in on each user profile. Cheers, Paula
