PST limitation. Do PST file has a cap size?

why do pst get full sometimes when it reach 2GB but how come some pst file
can go up to 10GB and the user is still able to drag mails to it?
is there a cap? or do i have to do setting on it?

The limit is based on the version of Outlook that created it. older
versions used ANSI psts and were limited to 2GB. Outlook 2003 and 2007
support unicode pst and they can got to 10 GB or more.

hmmm but the users are using office 03 and they faced this problem too.
the pst is created in 0ffice 03.

You can still create ansi formatted pst-files in Outlook 2003. Have you
verified that they are indeed in unicode?

Microsoft Outlook 2002 and earlier versions limit the size of Personal
Folders (PST) file to 2GB. Whenever the PST file reaches or exceeds
that limit, you will not be able to open or load it any more, or you
cannot add any new data to it. This is called oversized PST file
problem. More detailed information can be found at
