Pub 02 Text Box Sizing

D

DD

I am working on a multi-page document and would like to
be certain the text box (which is the size of the page)
is in the exact same size on each page and is positioned
in the exact same location. Is there a quick way to do
this? Right now I am formating each text box which is
time consuming. Also, once I have the box in the correct
position is there a way to lock it in place to prevent
the text box from shifting around.

Also, what is the difference between the blue and pink
layout guides?

Thanks so much,

DD

When you create your text box on the one page, then go to add pages, it has
the option to place all objects from that page.

There is no way to lock objects in Publisher. Next version *hopefully*
along with Text Defaults.

In addition to David's response, you can put your text boxes on the master
page/background so that you can lock them in place once you have the text
entered.

And do a search in the help menu for the following:

What's the difference between layout guides and ruler guides?

Brains suggestion will only work if the text is all the same for every page.

Well if you have multi-page document and you stick a text frame on the
background/master page, the text needs to be all the same on each page.

True. You are correct. This is Publisher 2002 we are talking about. Thanks
for correcting me. It is possible to do this in Publisher 2003, which allows
you to use multiple master pages. I keep thinking 2003 cuz I use it
everyday.
