Pub07 not working in Vista

Neither Word, not Publisher 2007 will open on my new computer with Vista
Business.
Excel, Outlook etc work fine. I'm at my wit's end and spent hours with Dell
support but still can't solve this problem.

Inspiron 9400

I've just about given up and plan to go back to Office 2003 if I can't get
any joy from Microsoft.

Thanks for your reply Mary.
No, I don't use Norton, I use AVG.
I've removed Office 2007 and have installed Office 2003 which is working
fine.

Thanks JoAnn,
i get a message saying that Publisher is not responding and Windows is
trying to find a solution to the problem. Then i get a message saying to
close the programme.
I've taken it off and installed Office 2003, working fine. I'm going to take
my computer back and have Vista removed and XP put on.
It shouldn't be on the market as it's not compatible with so many other
regular programmes that people use. I've heard not one good comment about it.

Publisher 2003 and 07 work fine on Vista. I expect it has more to do with
permissions than anything else.

It is compatible with most newer versions of software, especially Microsoft
apps. I've had it squawk when I try to use 6 year old software by another
developer but that's okay - I didn't use it much before so I won't missi it
now.

I can tell you that Word and Publisher 2007 work fine on Vista.
