Fei,
You'll probably get a better answer if you post to our sister newsgroup,
microsoft.public.project.server. This newsgroup is dedicated to the
stand alone version of Project.

thanks John. is there a template for Public Holidays that can be imported
into the stand alone MS Project 2007?

There is not such a template that I'm aware of - every country and
jurisdiction has different legal holidays so putting something together that
would be universally applicable would be impossible. For example, July 24th
is a legal holiday in Utah but nowhere else in the States. Here in Ontario,
the 18th of February was a legal holiday for the first time this year
("Family Day") but it wasn't a holiday in the rest of Canada. The best bet
is to bite the bullet and spend a little time to manually enter the holidays
your company observes for as far out as practical, then use the Organizer
tool to copy your custom calendar into the global template so you'll have it
available for any other project files your working on without having to
continually reinvent the wheel.
