Publisher 2000 Deluxe - Zip Code Bar Code?

I'm using Microsoft Publisher 2000 Deluxe. Is it possible to place zip code
bar codes on envelopes? If so how?

Thanks for the quick response Ed.

I read the link you posted. I am able to print zip code bar codes (either
above or below the address) using my Corel Word Perfect. Since I can do
that, would it be safe to assume I have the necessary fonts installed?

Using Corel Word Perfect, I have always placed the bar code BELOW the
address. I noticed the mail I receive from businesses all have the bar code
BELOW the address.

Thanks for the replies.

Ed,

I selected the option to create and address list in publisher. There's no
field for "Barcode" in the publisher data base so I added it. After
following the instructions from the link you posted, I still can't get a
barcode to appear. I'm assuming that once you insert the zip code field and
barcode fields onto the envelope a barcode will appear.

When using my Corel, all I have to do is put in a zip code then click on
"barcode" and the correct barcode appears.

The problem seems to be the postnet font. It's not listed in my fonts. I
don't know how Corel is printing the postnet barcode. Corel even lists the
postnet barcode when I click to print a barcode. I did a search and can't
find the postnet font.

In Publisher, for the zip code field the OCR A Extended font appears.

just a suggestion, follw Don's advice: "below the Address" in postal codes
may or may not be correct enough placement for the ocr scanners to read.
the guidelines and tolerances may prevent all of your mail being sent back
to you, or worse, getting billed for postage due.
