publisher 2002 upgrade

folks in the process of upgrading from 98 to 2002

I have applied office xp sp1 & sp2 but am still getting the symptons on Kb
article 292260, can anyone throw any light on a way forward - i have 200
documents that need converting

The Wordart format , not the text, is being , strectched thus affecting
other text boxes on the document

After managing to set up OE-QuoteFix on his new PC, Ed reads a message

Here is a registry fix that will preven the WordArt from appearing
distorted:

http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/preview.aspx?AssetID=HA010773021033&CTT=98

This will convert the WordArt to an image, making it uneditable. You will
need to recreate your WordArt in the new version to get it right and
editable.
