Publisher 2003 colour separations

Hi,

In Publisher 2003 whenever I print colour Separations regardless of printer
(all postscript language 3), All four pages(colours) come out in greyscale,
combined its fine sepearte each coulor is translated into grey.


Is there somthing I need to do to change this into colour?

Are you a commercial printer or taking your file to one?

Hi Ed

No its a College on a couple of HP colour laserjets. as part of one of their
"Clait" course they are required to print the separations aqnd crop marks.
however the colour separations come out in greyscale.

Yes, colour separations do come out in greyscale, as that's the easiest
way to handle them with a Windows print driver. The document can be sent
to the printer as black and white (a single ink), whereas colour could
be confused. As Windows printers handle colour as RGB, the printer would
have to do manipulation to get a single value for the colour intensity.

All the printer has to do to print the separations when each plate is in
greyscale is print each plate in that ink colour (of, of course, make a
plate and then use that ink colour with the plate on the press).
