Publisher crashes

W

Wayne

We have Publisher on an Windows XP PC. Publisher has been crashing for no
apparent reason. Publisher was being used to make a calendar, when the
message cme up that "Publisher has encountered a problem, and will have to
close". The PC is fairly new, I would think it has enough resources.

What can you tell me? Thanks.

Wayne,

Are you offered an option to send an error report? And if so, is there a
details button?

There are few things we can look at:

1. Printer driver. Either updating your printer driver or changing your
default printer driver (if you have more than one)
2. Video driver needs update
3. Reinstall or repair. You could go to the Help > Detect and Repair menu in
Publisher and see if that fixes your issue

Does this only happen with the calendar wizard? Only a certain publication
or all publications?

Which version of Publisher are you using and have you applied all the
service packs?

Yeah I had a similar problem. For me, publisher would open correctly, but
when I went to click on an icon to start a new design, it would crash. I
deleted the printers, rebooted, re-installed the drivers and it solved the
problem. Wayne I also like your idea about looking at the video driver too.

Knock on wood, so far no more problems.
