Publisher doesn't print colors accurately

My company's logo and signature are done in the same Pantone color- 2587.
Printing from Adobe's Illustrator works perfectly. However, if I export a
PNG file then drop it in Publisher, or simply copy and paste the artwork, the
colors don't print correctly from Publisher. On screen, they appear the
same. The color space is set up as RGB in Illustrator. The color prints as
a vivid purple from Illustrator, but then a murky crimson-brown from
Publisher. How can I make publisher print our logos correctly?

Assuming you have a PostScript printer, make your Illustrator file CMYK,
instead of RGB, and save it in EPS format for importing. You should be
able to print it as either spot or process colour that way. PNG isn't a
very suitable format for print.

Print to Acrobat distiller first before printing to printer.

I agree with Odysseus. You need to import the logo into Publisher as an
EPS file. It is the only format that Publisher will leave alone when it
does a conversion from RGB to CMYK.
