I have prepared a newsletter to email but don't want the recipeints to be
able to edit the newsletter, I have applied a read only tribute but am still
able to make changes -where have I gone wrong?

Send it as a .pdf file. If they have Acrobat (not the free Reader), they
could edit it but that's a chance you can take without much thought.

You haven't gone wrong...that's just the way it is.

Maybe you would be happier with a .pdf. And as
an added bonus...the recipients won't be required
to have Publisher installed in order to read your
newsletter.

Try this...

Download and install the following free PDF Creator.

PrimoPDF
http://www.primopdf.com/

With your new program installed...open your project
in Publisher and go to...File / Print.

On your Print screen...open the drop window and
select PrimoPDF as your printer.

Click...OK...now you will see the PrimoPDF screen
and you can browse to a save folder.

When you click...OK..your .pdf file will be created
in your save folder.

The resulting .pdf file can be viewed on any computer
that has the free Adobe Reader installed.
