Publisher-recurring event scheduling ability using calendars

Publisher has great calendar templates
Publisher does not allow for recurring event entries via the wizard - Why
can't this be done the same way as in Outlook. Or can Outlook calendar
format be changed to anyone of the Publisher templates.
