Publishing InfoPath text fields to SharePoint

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to promote an InfoPath
text field to the SharePoint form list such that it is not seen as a
SharePoint "single line of text" with a 255 character max. I have several
text fields on my form that can exceed 255 chars, but they are getting
truncated. I was hoping SharePoint would treat them as "multiple lines of
text."

Any wisdom is appreciated.

Thanks!

I've been able to format fields that display in SharePoint by simply using
escape characters, such as the newline '\n', and tab '\t' excape characters.
As far as the limitation of 255 characters, I believe that Greg Collins (from
www.infopathdev.com) has stated that that is a limitation built into
SharePoint itself and cannot be adjusted. If that still doesn't answer your
question, try posting something about these character limits to a SharePoint
newsgroup.

Thanks Josiah. I went to www.infopathdev.com and searched -- a 255-character
limitation is mentioned for fields in forms linked to Access dbs, so I'm
guessing the limitation also applies for fields promoted to SharePoint. I
took your advice and posted my question to the MS SharePoint community.

Rats!

Thanks again,
Mary
