Publishing to sub-domain

I've created a sub-domain www.sub.mysite.com using my control panel, assigned
FP extensions, etc., but I'm not succeeding when attempting to publish. I've
attempted publishing through the usual site path, and I've also attempted by
creating a new sitepath www.sub.mysite.com but neither will accept the files.
What am I doing wrong?

You need to create a FP subweb, and then publish to that via FP. Under you Control Panel, point the
sub-domain to the subweb.

Thanks Thomas. I already had created the subweb www.mysite.com/sub just so I
could play with the files (blog). I can't ascertain how in the control panel
to go about pointing the sub-domain to the subweb, though I guess that would
be better asked of my webhost. Thanks again.

Let me revisit this (my webhost admin is on the leftcoast and not up yet).

In my control panel file manager it contain a subdomain index.html
placeholder, but since my files are a blog (textpattern) the index page is
index.php. Can I just move the index.php to the index.html placeholder even
though the file formats are different?

I think you're going to have to talk with your host.
