Purchased Office 4.3 in 1995

P

part1c1p8

And I still have my ID: (registration number).
Does anyone know if MicroSoft honors this purchase in any upgrade agreement?
I presume it will not run with XP, and if it did, I have a corrupt disk (1
out of 22 flopopies) that prevents installation.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Par1clp8,

Only Office 97 or higher qualify for upgrade to
the current version of Office
http://microsoft.com/office/howtobuy/

If it's disk #2 of the original Office 4.3 set your
floppy drive or Windows version may not be able to
read the DMF format that was used on that diskette
due to a configuration issue such as the one listed
here for Office 95
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;135648&FR=1
It's not an issue new to Windows XP but the older
solutions
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;124970&FR=1
may not work with that version of Windows.
