PWA 2007 Project Workspace problems

Tony

Hi,

We have followed information on this site about setting up a workspace
template and using this as the default workspace site for newly published
projects. We have been able to set up the template OK with no problems.

After we publich a project and automatically create a workspace using this
template, the problem is when we go into PWA the workspace is not on the home
page at all under the project workspaces section or as a tab. You can see
the name of the workspace in the Server Settings/Operational Policies/Project
Workspace settings, but with no site address. When we try to edit the
workspace to add the site address, it says that this site is already linked
to antoher website and to try another address

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,
You need to create the WSS template from a site which is not already linked
to a project site. There are two ways to do this...

One workaround is to unlink the site before creating a template (When
creating a template (.STP) from a PWS, ensure that the PWS URL has been
removed from its linked project in Server Settings --> Project Workspaces -->
Edit site address.)

The other method is to start from a clean Project Workspace provisioned
directory from WSS, Central Administration, Create Site Collection

(thanks to Brian Smith for these)

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the quick response, we will try this and see how we go.
