PWA mixed Authentication: a windows acct needed?

Dear Readers,

I have created 2 users with admin (MyAdmin) and general user (MyUser)
privileges using the project web access. i logged into the pwa as
administrator and got started.

When I login to the PWA as MyAdmin and click on admin tab, it takes me
to the manage users and group and other links page. when i click on
the manage users page, it is asking me for a windows user id and
password.

MyAdmin and MyUser users are not in the windows local server or domain
account.

i am hesistant to create new users because, we want to minimize
administrative work.

MS Project server manual is not clearly indicating the requirements.

any suggestions will be appreicated.
