Hello

I have a MS Project Macro and currently there are some 50 users using the
same. When i make a Macro update, the possibilties are not all users have the
latest version and this is a big bang on the database.

Is is possible to install the new version of macro from a specified locaion
when the MS project application is opened?

any suggestions on how to install the macro automaticaly?

Thanks & Regards
Karthik

There are a few ways:

1) Use project server and put the macro in the enterprise global
2) Have people map to a central global.mpt
3) Send out a file which people can open which on opening will transfer the
new macro into their global.mpt file (alternate, have them use the organizer
to move the macro in manually.)
4) Build an add-in and have people update that.

Option 2 looks good, but is not recommended as people won't be able to keep
any modifications they have.

I think option 3 is the best.

Hi Jack
Thanks for your detailed answer. Option 1 is ruled out as we dont have a
project server. Option 3 is not good because, this my current process and
users fails to open email!
Option 2 looks good. can you please elaborated a bit more on option 2 on how
i could achieve this

Thanks a lot in advance

Karthik
