Questions about Captions in Microsoft Word 2003

Does anyone know if there is a way to add a caption to an object (figure,
table, etc.) without adding the number at the end? I've created my own
captions using the "New Label" button, but a sequential number is always
added at the end (ex. Figure 1, etc.) and I'd like to omit the number that
follows. I see there is a way to omit the caption, but not a way to omit the
number.

Also, is there a way to link a graphic (.jpg) to the caption so that if the
graphic is moved the caption follows?

Finally, I am wondering if there is a way to change the caption position.
Currently I only see options for choosing above or below the object, however
they are left justified and I'd like to set mine to right justified. I've
used WordPerfect in the past and all of these options were avaialble in that
program but I am having difficulty figuring it out in Word.

Any suggestions would be appreciated - my next step will have to be creating
separate text boxes for each one! Thank you

If you don't want the captions numbered, then there's not much point in
using Insert | Caption. Just type the caption with the appropriate style and
label. If your graphic is inline, format it or the caption (whichever comes
first) as "Keep with next." If you need to wrap text around them, insert
both together into a frame.
