Questions about Office "Tools"...

G

George

I just upgraded Office 2002 to Office 2003 with BCM. It seemed to have some
old 2002 clutter in Tools, which I deleted...shortcuts with old dates.

But just to make sure...are these the items that, for Office 2003, *should*
be under Start > All Programs > MS Office > MS Office Tools:

Activate Product

Digital Certificate for VBA Projects

Microsoft Clip Organizer

Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings

Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard

Microsoft Office Access Snapshot Viewer

Microsoft Office Application Recovery

Microsoft Office Document Imaging

Microsoft Office Document Scanning

Microsoft Office Picture Manager

Are there any that can/should be deleted? Also, several aren't even
installed. If I double-click, it goes into a "prepareing to install"
window... Are there any that I *should* installe?

Also, the "Activate Product" brings up the red-circled-white-X... "Problem
with shortcut" ... this action only valid for products already installed.
Do I need to delete this shortcut or leave it in?

Thanks,

George

Hi,

AFAIK, Office 2003 does not have the Digital Certificate... shortcut . If
you receive that message for the Activate shortcut, you can delete it,
because the product part which it has been matched to is no longer
installed, and at worst, you can always reach the activate feature from the
Help menu in each and every Office application.
