Quick, easy reporting on resource actuals

S

SBelling

Greetings:

I administer Project Server 2003 for out IS department.
Our functional managers would like to be able to see all
of the actual hours worked for each of their direct
reports, ideally on a day by day/task by task basis as
well as weekly totals/summaries.

I have tinkered with various views in various parts of
Project Web Access - does anyone know a quick and good
view to what I am describing?

Thanks,
SBelling

Your functional mangers might try the following set of steps to see if the
resulting view meetings their reporting needs:

1. Log into Project Web Access
2. Click the Resources menu
3. Click the View resource assignments link in the sidepane on the left
4. Select the resources they wish to see, click the Add button, and then
click the Apply button
5. Click the View Options tab
6. Select the Show scheduled work option
7. Click the View Options tab again to collapse the tab section
8. Click the Timesheet format link at the top of the sidepane
9. Click the All assignments link in the sidepane

If the functional managers like this view, then they can do the following
additional steps to save the view as a link:

1. Apply the view using the steps above
2. Click the Save Link button immediately above the data grid
3. Give the link a name and click the OK button

The link to the custom view will appear in the Saved Links section at the
top of the sidepane on the Resource Center page. To apply the linked view,
navigate to the Resource Center page, expand the Saved Links section, and
then click the link. Hope this helps.

Dale:

THanks for the info - one thing:

We don't seem to have the Show scheduled work option. Do I
need to add this somewhere?

Thanks,
SBelling

The Show Scheduled Work option is only available if you select the Timesheet
option. I gave you the correct steps, but in the wrong order. Select the
Timesheet option first, and then you should see the Show Scheduled Work
option on the View Options tab. Sorry. My mistake. Hope this helps.
