Laura

I just started with the XP office Pro, my 95 version had
a toolbar option that opened on my decktop with icons for
all office and accessories that i added. I really miss
this convenience? What haven't i found? I hope I can
have that back. Closest i found was to drag the word
icon bar to the deck top. but it coses when word closes.
not what i want. Please tell me ther is a toolbar
utility i can use to get my 95 style toolbar at the top
of my desktop.
Regards,
Laura

Laura,

According to the MS knowledge base the MS Shortcut bar is
no longer distributed with Office. I was ready to go back
to a previous version of Office and send this one back to
Bill Gates, but there appear to be solutions. If you look
back a few days there is a suggestion to use a previous
version of the Shortcut Bar (Identified as OSB.EXE). That
didn't work for me.

Another suggestion is to get the "JetAudio Toolbar" and
use it. This program is "Freeware" available through the
JetAudio web site (jetaudio.com). I downloaded this
program and installed it on my Wife's laptop running XP
Home. After playing with the settings I wound up with
something that looks and acts very much like my old
favorite MS Shortcut bar.

Good luck. Hope this works for you.

Regards,
Ken

Hi Laura,

Office XP has the Office Shortcut Bar (OSB), known as the MS Office Manager (MOM) in OFfice95. In Office XP it is not a default
install item, but you can set it to 'run from my computer' status through the Microsoft Office XP listing in Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows Control Panel.
