Quicktime performance workaround?

A possible solution for QT issues?...
I have a number of large quicktime files that i inserted into PowerPoint
2004 for Mac, and the playback performance is unreliable and jerky. I did
notice that the files play back fantastically in QT. Instead of inserting
movie into powerpoint, should i set an action to an object to link to the QT
file so it plays back using the QT software engine and not Powerpoint... The
main issue here is interface. I would like to play the file in Full Screen,
which can be accomplished with keystrokes Apple-F while the QT program plays
the file, but maybe a macro could be built in the PPT file so instead of
linking action to open the actual QT file, I set action to open the macro,
and then the macro could be set to play the file and script the display
parameters. Any thoughts on this? I know this may not sound as useful to many
users, but i'm willing to try this workaround. i'm willing to try most
anything...
