Random Number Generation, Monte Carlo Analysis

I'm doing a simple Monte Carlo Analysis.

When doing a random number generation, under Data Analysis, I get
different results from the rest of my class (using PCs). Any ideas why and is
it a problem in the end?

In general what problems may I encounter using Mac instead of PC like the
rest of my classmates?

Without knowing for sure which versions of Excel are involved, your
different answers are likely because yours are right and theirs are not.
There were a lot of changes made to the statistical functions (especially
RAND) for Macintosh Excel 2004 which corrected many ancient problems. I
believe that the corresponding changes have only been made for Windows Excel
2003 by means of a service pack. (Somebody will undoubtedly jump in here
with the correct version ids.)

I'm using Office v.X. Will I benefit by upgrading to Office 2004. I'll be using
Excel quite frequently for stats classes.

Maybe you're specifying a "Random Seed" that's different from theirs.
