Re-post from the 13th

I am re-submitting this due to lack of resolution. I have
an XP Pro machine running MS Office 2000. Outlook has
worked fine for a year, and now when I launch the
program, I get the "encountered error" message and it
shuts down. I have scanned for viruses, cleaned all
spyware, etc. I have tried reloading Office, uninstalling
and reinstalling Office, and finally uninstalling Office,
editing all references to Outlook and/or Office from the
registry, and reinstalling Office. Outlook still will not
start. Any ideas?

try creating a new profile via the Mail applet in Control Panel and start
Outlook with that.
this assumes Outlook is in CW mode. If not, post back.
