read order of email

At one time, one could designate the order for the next read email. With the receipt date being the favorite sort order, one would think that they would not change the direction that email is read. Delete one and the next one should move up towards the most recent rather than read and go to a less recent email. Used to be able to set this. Can't find it now. Where is it hidden

Tools>Options>E-Mail Options>under "Message handling" there is a drop down
menu next to "After moving or deleting an open item", select the option that
works best for you.
