Read Process Memory error when loading Office XP

M

Mark Andrews

I have just loaded Windows XP on an HP Pavillion 4540
with 454Mghz Celleron processor and 64mb of RAM. I am now
trying to load Office XP. When I try to run the setup,
after several minutes, I get an error "Only part of a
Read Process Memory or Write Process Memory request was
completed". I realize I probably need more memory, but I
would like to verify. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mark Andrews

From a quick search of the internet, it seems the culprit might be a bad cd
rom drive, or a faulty CD. Do you have the latest drivers for your CDRom?

Eric;
Thank you for your advice, I think you are on the right track. I
have looked for drivers for my CD-ROM drive but so far have only found
drivers that are older than the one currently installed. If anyone
knows a quick and easy way to update the driver, please let me know.
The CD ROM is an IBM CRD-8322B with version 5.1.2535 of the driver.
Thanks,
Mark
