Hello,

Is there any way to get a Real Audio Video File to play in PPT 2002 running
Windows XP Home?

Thank you.

You might want to add a RealPlayer G2 ActiveX Control to a Slide

To add a RealPlayer G2 ActiveX Control to a slide, follow these steps:

1.Start PowerPoint, and then locate the slide that you want to insert the
control into.
2.In the Control Toolbox, click More Controls, and then click RealPlayer G2
Control.
3.Draw the control on your slide.

NOTE: RealPlayer must be installed on your computer for the RealPlayer G2
ActiveX Control to be listed in the Control Toolbox.
The RealPlayer G2 ActiveX Control now appears on your slide.

To make the RealPlayer G2 ActiveX Control play back your Real Audio file,
follow these steps:

4.Right-click the inserted RealPlayer G2 ActiveX Control, and then click
Properties.
5.In the Source box, type the full path to the *.rm file that you want to
play.

Rich, in addition to Karl's recommendation, there is a big warning.
Installing Real One on your system is almost guaranteed to cause problems
when you next try to add other types of media to your PowerPoint
presentations. The reason is that Real hyjacks some of the MCI settings for
its own reasons or purposes. See the info in section 2 at

And also bear in mind that the presentation will only work properly on
computers where the Real player's also installed.

And also the ActiveX control won't work if you're distributing your presentation with the PPT Viewer. The Viewers don't support ActiveX controls.
