Receive Preparing to install message when accessing word or excel

Have recently replaced hard drive - Had trouble accessing office components
until using Windows Install Cleanup program which cleared it up except for
receiving "Windows Installer" " preparing to install message" each time exel
or word is accessed, then it goes to exel or word and everthing works fine.
Would appreciate any help to solve this.

Wilalg texas,
If you would post your Office and Windows versions including any service
packs that are applied to both, it would be easier for anyone suggest
something for you.

Some suggestions:
If this was a clone from the old drive, you would have needed to reinstall
Office on the new drive before any other troubleshooting steps.
Log into the administrator account on your machine and accept the end user
license agreement.
From add/remove programs uninstall your Office version, reboot your machine,
reinstall Office and select the option to run from local drive.
You can also search here:

Or here:

using your Office version.

Problem corrected by downloading and applying office xp service pack 3.
