Receiving Loads of Old E-mail

Sloth

I'm trying to help a friend who is having some problems with her Outlook
Express. Outlook is trying to download 900+ e-mails (she normally gets
around 12 a day). I told her to look at the e-mail she has downloaded
already and they are all old e-mails (from several months ago), which she
claims were deleted months ago. Do you guys have any suggestions on why
Outlook Express would do this? I've never had a problem like this, and I
don't really know where to start looking.

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002, 2003 & 2007
from the Office
family for PCs. For Outlook Express [OE] support try posting in one of these
newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com. That's MS's public news server that's the
source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups.

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

This is a newsgroup for Outlook which is different from Outlook Express. Try
an OE newsgroup.

Sorry for posting in the wrong newsgroup, and thank you for leading me to the
correct one.
