Recovering Email & Addresses From Crashed Hard Drive

Does anyone know how to recover emails & addresses from a
crashed HDD? I have replaced the HDD with a new one w/XP
OS and can look in the old drive via "Explore" but am not
sure where to go and look fro all my old email &
addresses. I had not backed up any of the info and
created any .pst files. Any help would be appreciated.
