Rectangles in Word

R

Rocky ABQ

I use Microsoft Word 97 and commonly transfer docs between my desktop and
laptop using a floppy disk. When I open the doc file on the laptop, there are
often many small rectangles inserted as extra lines between the actual lines of
text. It'll always be: line of text, then rectangle (by itself on a line), then
line of text, etc. Would anyone have any idea as to the cause or origin of
these pesky little rectangles? Thanks

You should never open documents directly from floppy. It causes document
corruption. Copy to the hard drive first.
Do you have the same fonts and printer drivers on both machines?
