Redirect a copy of all incoming email to second acct/iPhone

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: intel
Email Client: Exchange

I an using Entourage 11.4 (MS Office 2004) at work and we are on an Exchange server for corporate email. I would like to set up a rule to redirect a copy of each incoming email from my work email address to a dedicated Yahoo account so it will get pushed to my iPhone. Sort of a work around till native Exchange support.

I have set up a rule in Entourage to "Forward" each incoming email to the Yahoo account and that gets pushed automatically to the iPhone and works great - EXCEPT the forward removes the sender name and every email looks it is from me to me. I can't tell if an email is from the CEO or a vendor trying to sell me something unless the subject line is very clear.

I see there is a "redirect" rule in the "outgoing" set of rules that is supposed to retain the original sender information - but after searching these forums and Google I can't find a clear explanation of the redirect function, if it can be applied to all incoming email or just how to use it.

I need to leave the original email in my regular inbox in Entourage - I just want a duplicate copy sent to the Yahoo account and retain the original sender info.

Any ideas or instructions? To address other posted suggestions, no I can not get our work IT to enable IMAP or make any changes to the servers or ports. I need a completely self contained solution on the user side.

You can either set a rule on the server itself if it supports it, or
create a rule in ENtourage and leave the application running at all
time.
You indeed need to redirect the e-mails instead of forwarding them,

MY IT group will not let me establish a forwarding rule on the server.

I have a rule in Entourage working now under the "Exchange" section using the "forward" command - but I lose the correct "To" identifier.

I do not see "Redirect" under the Exchange section in rules. Only under "outgoing". I want to forward/redirect a copy INCOMING emails to me to the second email address.

I don't understand the rules/commands to redirect incoming emails using the redirect command under the "outgoing" tab in rules. Is there some combination of copy/forward/redirect I need to work up?
Can I just create a redirect rule in outgoing the will redirect a copy of all incoming email?

Sorry to be dense - I just don't get it and can not find any specific instructions. Any specific suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

You're absolutely rught!! I have redirect for IMAP and POP accounts, but
I don't have it either for Exchange. There must be a limitation there,
but I'm not sure I understand (maybe the Excahgne server refuses to send
mail apparently not originating from you),

I was wondering… Can't you add the account you want to redirect to in
Entourage?? If you ca setup the yahoo account as IMAP, you could have a
simple rule that would copy all incoming e-mnail in this IMAP account.

I see your problem. Apparently, Entourage 2004 has an option to redirect
messages in a rule for all types of accounts EXCEPT Mail (Exchange)! I
wonder why MS left it out of Exchange but included it in all the other
account types.

There is a known bug in exchange with setting a SERVER SIDE (exchange
people) rule to forward to another e-mail account! It sometimes sents empty
mails......

Interesting. But why would that prevent MS from allowing Entourage (instead
of the server) to redirect Exchange mail, just as it can for POP and IMAP?

Redirecting requires sending a message to someone, pretending it's
coming from the original sender (and not you).
Exchange servers usually require that the sender address matches the
address of your account.

We have aliases here (more "readable" than the crazy login I was
assigned). I can't send using the aliases either. It has to be the
original login.
