Reference fields

If you have a document that has the name of a company
referenced many times is there a way to type it once and
all of the other entries are changed as well? I know I
can find and replace but I do not want to do that.

Hi Tony,

The answer is already in your subject line.

Bookmark the first occurrence. At each of the other locations, use
Insert > Field and select REF and add the bookmark name, or use Insert
Cross-reference and select Bookmark and then the name.

If you change the first occurrence, either be very careful not to
overwrite the bookmark (you can see it as a pair of fat square
brackets if you check the Bookmarks box in Tools > Options > View), or
reinsert the bookmark with the same name. To make the references
change to match, you may need to select all (Ctrl+A) and update fields
(F9).
