With their most recent drop in supporting IE for Mac, I would like to
see that trend continue. Mac isn't worth the time to delegate
developer time for IMO when it comes to Microsoft.

I disagree. In some areas, Office:Mac is far superior to its Windows
counterpart.
Windows XP has found every file that I have ever looked for with no
problem.

Eventually. I still use the dir command from cmd.exe if I want to find
something fast without searching inside ZIP files, though.
The newly released Desktop Search does an excellent search,
similar to what the search index does in Windows XP (except search
index brings up system files as well).

Do you mean the Indexing Service? Ugh. That's the only word for it in my
book.

You can disagree all you want. And I never said Office:Mac wasn't better
than it's Windows counterpart (in fact I agree...we have it at our shop). I
just don't think Mac is worth MS's time right now when MS can't always get
things right with it's own OS.

It's not lightening fast, but it works for ME :)

Yup. I don't use it cuz I don't need to, but I have tested it and does work.
However, the new Desktop Search has been awesome for me.

True...
But why discontinue such a great product?
The Mac team are hardly going to turn round and become Windows devs.
IMO, MS should try porting Office:Mac to Windows. And then porting
Publisher to Mac.

Haha, I'll take your word for it.
But I just hate the fact that search speed has gone down since the days of
Windows 95.

It does work, but it also causes random processor usage and disk accesses
when you least expect it.
I haven't tried Desktop Search, but I'm sure it's good stuff (although is
Google better?)

Google's version is NOT better in my experience. Searches for the same items
showed up in MSN while not in Google. MSN's Desktop search also includes
more file types and also supports add-on filters for additional file types,
such as adobe's PDF.
