I am getting ready to format my hard drive and reinstall
windows xp and microsoft office 2000. I have the CD for
office, but I don't have the product key. Is there
anywhere in the registry to get this info before I format
the hard drive? Or is there any other way to get the key?
(I have both the cd and key for windows xp)

Before you go any further, STOP, and find a copy of AIDA32 Enterprise
Edition. It will display both your Office cd key, and your XP cd key.
However, this will not work if you have formatted your HD since losing
your keys.
**** NOTE ****
AIDA32's successor, Everest, will not display the Office cd key.
Also, any other version of AIDA32 than Enterprise Edition will NOT
display the Office cd key.
