Yea! You'll be avoiding a whole slew of problems that way. And you're going
to want to do a few other things before you're fully up and running anyway.
I always uninstall the crap that the computer manufacturer dumps on your
system. And then you need Flash, Shockwave, Windows updates, Tweak, etc. I
always get those things done before I am ready to get busy.

I just removed office 2003 pro from my old computer. I will work on my new
computer tomorrow or over the weekend. It looks like I need to uninstall
the
pre loaded trial version of Office 2003 before I install my own edition.
Thanks

Brian,
Thanks for your response. Yes my friend bought it at the msft store
here
in
Redmond. The new computer is still in the box since I have not had
time
to
open and play. Will do this tomorrow or on the weekend. The new
computer
does come with a trial version of MS Office 2003. Reading from other
people's problems...should I uninstall the trial version and then
install
my
office edition after that. You are telling me that I can use the same
key
code to install but won't a message come up saying that key code is
already
registered or invalid? From reading other messages on the topic ...
Mircosoft allows two installs per registered owner. This would be my
second
install so if this is true the install should go threw but I need to
uninstall the trial version first.
Thanks
Kevin

Assuming that you mean that he got it from the msft employee store, if
you removed it from your old PC you can install it on the new. You may
need to use the phone method and explain.

Hello,
I just got a new computer and want to reinstall my office 2003 pro
edition.
A friend bought it for me from msft as they were an employee. They
don't
live here anymore. What is the easiest way to get a new product key
to
reinstall.
Have not tried on new computer but expect a message to pop up saying
program
already registered.
Thanks
