Relative links in Word 2002 and winzip

What I am trying to do is place my links in the word document so that
when i zip a folder up they can be unzipped onto another computer with
the links to be properly working. Is there any way of doing this?

I just tested this (Word 2003) using 2 files and a sub-folder. The
files/folder were added to a zip-compressed file using 7-zip, then extracted
to a different partition on the same computer. The link still worked--and
the link was not to the original location.
Have you already attempted extracting the files on a different computer?
