Hi,
I am using Apple Remote Desktop 3 and trying to deploy software and remove software and have begun testing with Office 08. I managed to find the install portion but noticed there are issues removing the Office 08.
Is there a way to run a "Send a UNIX command" to remove the Office 08 entirely?
How would I find similar uninstall commands for other applications?
Thanks for you help.
Kent.

Not that I know of. You could build a script though, but I don;t believe
the uninstaller can be controlled through the command-line.

Most of the time you'll have to write your own shell scripts and have
ARD execute them :-\

Corentin,
I am new to using shell scripts.
What resource online would be a place to start?
Or, any books?
Thanks.

Well there are tons of books. I like the ones from O'Reilly editions.
"UNIX in a nutshell" is a good refernece book (tons of commands
described and how to use them).
"Learning the bash shell" is also fairly good.
You can take a look at "MacOS X for UNIX geeks", which might provide a
lot of tips you will need to fully take advantage of the shell scripts
through ARD.

You should go to a book store and take a look at these books before
making any decision of course :)
