Remove Dictionary

D

Deborah

We are doing an exam at my work later on a laptop, and we
don't want the tester to perform any type of spell check.
I do not want to turn it off in case the tester knows how
to turn it back on.
Therefore, how do I REMOVE the dictionary from Word 2002
(XP)?
If I can remove it, can I put it to a floppy disk and add
it back after the test is over?

Thanks muchly,
Deborah

Hi Deborah,

Hmmm. I guess I'd look for the *.lex and *.dic files. Copy
the FOLDERS you find the *.lex files in to your back-up
medium, then delete the content. Copy the *.dic files to
back, then delete.

But make a note about the EXACT path where all these things
were!

Then, go into Tools/Options/Spelling and Grammar and
deactivate the spell and grammar checking. If the user
presses F7, he'll get an error message because the spell
checker won't be able to find the files.
