Remove strikethrough and balloons from deleted text in word 2003

I am trying to just display revision bars in the margin for changed text.
However, word 2003 automatically defaults to putting in strickthrough for
deleted text when balloons are shut off. How can I do what I am looking to
do?

On the Reviewing toolbar click the "Show" drop down and then click
Options. There you will find the ability to turn off insertions and
deletions.

I appreciate the hlep but in looking at the version, I have 2002 not 2003
which does not have the option that you mention avaiable. Any other thoughts?
