Removing Office 2000 without the CD

I have a Windows 2000 Professional desktop. A couple of years ago I
installed Office 2000. Now I want to permanently remove Office 2000 and I do
not have the CDs. How can I do this. When I try to remove from the
Add/Remove in Control Panel it is asking me for the CD looking for I believe
the stdret file. Since I don't have the CD I can't find this particular
file. What other can this be removed without this file. Right now every
time I open Word or Excel or other items this annoying window pops up asking
for the Office 2000 CD or this file.

Don't open Word or Excel, and you won't have this problem. Just pretend
you uninstalled it.

I'm asking for help not smart answers. Maybe if you don't have anything
intelligent to say you shouldn't be offering advise.

Do you have a newer version of Office. If you install that, it'll ask
you if you want to remove older versions. You can try reinstalling the
newer version and it should remove the old version files for
you...hopefully without that error.
