Hi there, for one reason or another, i would like to remove all of the
dictionary's (except English - UK). How would i go about this?

Thankyou for your time.

If you have Office XP or Office 2003, then click on Start | Control Panel |
Add/Remove Programs | Microsoft Office | Change | expand "Microsoft Office" |
expand "Office Shared Features" | expand "Proofing Tools" | click on the
little downward-pointing black triangle to the left of each language you do
not want and change it to "Not available" | Update.

Thank you very much for the reply, however, the machines in question all run
on Office 2000. When i follow your directions through for Office 2000, i only
get an option to turn off French and Spanish. I dont suppose you know of any
way to do this for 2000/turn off the rest of the languages do you?

Thanks for your time mister..

The method I suggested also works in Office 2000. As far as I know,
UK-English versions of Office only come with English, French, and
Spanish proofing tools (dictionary, thesaurus, and hyphenation). What
other proofing tool languages are installed that you cannot remove with
this method? I suspect that the problem you are trying to solve by
deleting dictionaries, cannot be solved by deleting dictionaries.

The problem i am encountering is that the dictionary keeps on reverting back
to English (US) - even though they are all set to English (UK) throughout
Office, and indeed the OS (Windows 2000).

You cannot delete US English without deleting UK English too, because
both variations are in the same dictionary file.
