"reply to all" --- clean up names

[ME!]

How do I eliminate names in my "reply to all" and in the "to" area? Some
people I don't even know. I want them out of there! Help!!

In the To... area, use the arrow keys to highlight a name, then the Delete
button to get rid of it.

In the Reply to all field, the names which appear are set by the sender.
You can deselect a few if you want - just highlight and delete them after
pressing Reply to All.

Judy, if I go TO and highlight a name, it goes to the "TO" area to the person
I'd want to email. I tried cutting the name there and it still stays.

And I will have to wait till I get a Reply to All to try that, don't I? So
far, I'm not making it work!! My name is really Cindy. This is all new to
me!! I just want names out of there!!

Let me rephrase this: How do I PERMANENTLY delete a name in the "Reply to
all" addresses? Highlighting the incorrect name only sends it to TO. I want

Try opening the message, clicking Edit>Edit Message, removing the names,
then cliosing the message, saying "Yes" when asked if you want to save the
changes.

If you're creating a new message, there is no "Reply to All". There's a
Send button. Nary a "Reply to All" in site.

will see many, many "P" names there, AND anyone you have ever, ever replied

You are describing Outlook's Autocompletion feature. It is only marginally
replated to "Reply to All"

How did I get these names in there, you might ask...I replied to an
email (sent to me) including " REPLY TO ALL" and got everyone under
the sun's name attached in my "reply to all" area.

When you resolve an address (i.e., Outlook underlines it in the recipient
field), then it gets added to the Autocompletion cache. When you used Reply
to All, all of the addresses on the recipient fields were resolved and so
were added to the Autocompletion cache. If you don't like a particular name
there, when it pops up, use your down arrow to highlight it and press
Delete. If you want to have Outlook start over, with Outlook closed, delete
the file
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\{yourprofile}.NK2, where "{yourprofile}" is the
same name as your mail profile (see Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles).
%AppData% (an environment variable equivalent to "C:\Documents and
Settings\yourusername\Application Data") is a hidden folder. If you want to
see the file, open Windows Explorer and enter
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook in the Address field and click Go.

My original reply is still the correct one.

In the To.. Field type J. When 12 judy/jenny/julians appear, use the down
arrow to highlight the ones you don't want and the delete key to deleted
them. As Brian said, you are deleting names from the Autocompletion Cache.
