Well, I guess I will take my chances and see what happens without doing anything. Hopefully the report miscalculated and my pages aren't as slow as indicated. However, if I would choose to optimize, is that the feature, Tools, Optimize HTML
Thank you so much
P.S. - I will be attempting to publish my website this evening. If I have any questions, I will be back with a new thread. In the meantime, thank you for helping me with this. I hope the images download without a glitch

You could probably take then down a notch or two in Optimize without hurting image quality. Personally, I don't worry about it until i see it on the web for real - to tell ya the truth
| Thanks for the reply. As I said before, I only have four pictures on my site
| One page has an image 47.2 K
| One page has an image 75.7 K
| One page has two images - 31.1KB and 35.3 K
| One page does not have any images
| Would those size images cause "slow pages"? I resized the images in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, not FP
| Thank you so much for all of your help

| 1- you need to look at the actual image file size - not the physical dimensions of the image - particularly if you resized them in FP (which may change the physical dimensions but not necessarily the file size
|
| I wouldn't be too concerned about unlinked files until you put the web online

| | Darn, everytime I think I am asking a somewhat relatively simple question I always get lost in translation. If you can't tell, I am a newbie. I still am not sure I understand. I checked the Tools Options Report View and there is "Assume connection speed of" and that is set at 56 kbps.
| | Should I be concerned about these two items I have asked about?
| | 1. My slow pages are, I am certain, because of images. However, these images were created in Microsoft Picture Manager and then inserted into my site. The images are small, most approximately 288 x 216. I only have a total of four images on my site. When previewing in the browser, is that a good indication how everything will look and perform?
| | 2. Unlinked files. The report says I have some but I think they are files that were from my previous site which is what I am working off of. Again, if everything works in the preview, shouldn't everthing be okay?
| | I don't want to publish my site and then find it does not work right. I would find that embarrassing and would get very frazzled. That is why I am trying to make sure everything is right now before I get to that next and hopefully final stage of publishing
| | Thank you very much for your time

| | | Thank you for responding. However, I need you to explain this further. I don't know where I should be in FP2003 when you
| | say on the bottom right I should right click and select isdn. Where do I find this "isdn"?
| | | Thanks!
