Reports in MS Project 2003. Matrix of Resources & dates

T

Tamm Fox

I am trying to find a report that will show a matrix or crosstab of the
resources down the left of a page, the dates across the top of the page and
where a certain column and row meet will be the task that resource is is to
do on that day.

I am trying my best to have our Foreman agree to throw away the pencil and
paper timesheet matrix (which is a simple printed MS Word table that they
hand-write on each week of the "MS Project" scheduled work for the coming two
weeks) and instead to go with a report from MS Project. Our Forman open the
resource pool and scheduled works file in MS Project and then hand-write the
information on their printed table. Just too old school for me to continue
with!! We may a well just schedule with pencil and paper too (if i cant show
them that MS Project can produce a report of exactly what they are
hand-writting).

Please help me change their old ways to a better MS Project way.

Thanks
Tam

Either use the Resource of Task Usage Views, or the Calendar View. The
Calendar View only works well if you apply a filter for a resource or area
because it can only show a few tasks on each day.

The Resource of Task Usage views and the calendar views are unable to
produce the information that our Formen require.

I need more like an excel spreadsheet where Column A = Resources and Row 1 =
Dates. Then the cells that align with the resource and the date will show
the task that (for that date and resource). similar to that of a times table
situation.

Also under another posting "John" informs me that you may be able to help me
with additional training in our office "Liverpool (Sydney) Australia".

Hi,

That specific format can't be done in Project, the Usage and Calendar Views
are as close as you can get. However, a VBA macro can produce the report in
Excel exactly as you specified.

Yes I can help with training in Sydney. I'm actually in the Sydney CBD next
week, but have a full calendar. I'm based an hour out of Auckland in NZ.
