Required Fields Message Box

I can not recall where the setting is to make the required
fields message box pop up automatically when trying to
save a project without filling out the required fields.

I have done that. What I have seen in the past is when it
is not filled out that a message box comes up right away
and the values are in red saying invalid data. Users get a
prompt but some don't know where to go. Is there another
setting for that?
