Resize a shape but immobilize one of its connection points?

On the side of a rectangular flowchart shape I have added a connection
point deliberately placed at a spot other than the middle of the side.

If I resize the shape vertically, the point moves so that its vertical
position is at the same percentage of the side's dimension as before.

Is there a way to prevent it from doing that? That is, a way to have
the connection point remain at the same spot while resizing the shape?

The reason I want this is so that the connector, which is now perfectly
horizontal, will stay that way rather than bend when the shape is
resized vertically. If I can't stop the connection point from moving,
is there another way to ensure this?

Thanks in advance.

You need to go into the Shapesheet and change the formula that controls the
Y position of your connection point. It is probably set to something like
Height * 0.45. You could make it a fixed offset from the bottom with a
constant like 0.3 in or a fixed offset from the top like Height - 0.3 in.

There's a software product full of them! :)

One of the best ways to figure something out is to find a shape in the
product that has similar behavior. Then pop open its Shapesheet and find
out what makes it tick.
