Resource Text Field Error messages

I have created a resource file in Project 2003 and used 29 text fields to
describe various skills of a resource. (Aside: I did not use an outline code
mask since one resource may have several skills and I do not have a version
of mroject that can handle this). I then created a single project file that
I have linked to the resource file. I have assigned several resources to the
project and saved. Upon saving I get the following message.

"The [text 1 field] value for [text 2 field] cannot be copied to the
resource pool. The [text 1 field] has a value list that restricts the field
to only those items in the list. The value in the sharer file that does not
match the list will be removed."

I get this message 15-20 times with different text field #'s referring to
other text feilds, clicking OK each time. I don't understand why I am
getting this message. I did not want project to copy the codes from one text
field to another. On top of that, the majority of these text fields have the
same value list [i.e.; 1, 2, 3]. I download SP2 hoping that this would fix
the problem, but it didn't. What's going on here?

Tables. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can
be seen at this web address:http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm.

If that doesn't provide the answer, then how did you do the linking?
