Restore from PST Backup Tool

I backed up my pst file with the backup tool. The backup
file created was not a .pst.

How can I restore (open) the file?

Which backup tool? The MS PST backup product copies your PST file, intact.

I am not sure why the backup file that you have created in a different
file format. i request you to go thro the right way to do the back up.

Yes, it is the MS ad-in tool. The backup file created was
labeled:

Outlook Backup [with no extension (file type: "File")]. I
guess it should be a .pst, but it's not.

Should I manually add the extension?
